The MJ Angel Food Bakery has created a bread baking pan that is vertical and cylindrical in shape. In other words, it is a “baking can!” Use it as you would a loaf pan. When food is cooked in it, the finished product creates a circular shape. When removed from the pan and sliced, it’s a circle! You also have the ability to cook multiple loaves at one time. The vertical nature of the “baking can” allows for more loaves to fit in the oven, approximately 6 at one time, speeding up the baking process. 5 1/2 inches tall; 4 inches in diameter - small loaf pan - Appx.1 quart. The “baking cans” are made with stainless steel, making them safe and sanitary for food preparing and cooking purposes. Each "baking can" is unique with its own striations - vertical and horizontal markings. This is normal and does not effect its baking capabilities. They are easy to clean and safe to use. It is a reusable lifetime pan. With proper cleaning and care, it will last indefinitely. It is dishwasher safe. Tips for Baking with your “Original Baking Can” Tips for Baking with your “Original Baking Can” Always spray the inside surface of the “baking can” thoroughly with a non stick vegetable oil spray; or you can thoroughly coat the inside surface with vegetable shortening, then put in a tablespoon of flour, tapping and rolling the “baking can” till the inside surface is completely coated. Fill the “baking can” to 2/3rd’s the way full, because the batter will expand upward. Overfilling will cause the batter to overflow and the baking time to be inaccurate. Setting your oven to 375, or about 25 degrees hotter than usual, helps with accurate baking time. Test your Loaves To test if loaves are done, put a thin knife down the center of one of the loaves. If it comes out clean, it is done. If it comes out doughy, bake another 5 minutes, and check again. When loaves are done, let them sit for 15 minutes before you dump them out. "The Original Baking Can" is HOT! Using hot pads, grab the “baking can” and tap it on the edge of the counter as you turn it to loosen the loaf. With one hand hold the bottom of the can, while dumping it out into your other hand. Gently catch the loaf as if slides out. Set it on its bottom on a towel or clean counter. They will be hot! Use caution! Do not use a knife or sharp object to pry the loaf out. That could damage your “baking can”. Tips for Cleaning and Care Always wash the “baking can” prior to first use. Do not use abrasive cleaners, sharp tools or harsh scrubbers on the “baking can.” For stuck on food, fill “baking can” with hot soapy water. Let sit till food is loosened, then scrub off.
